Unreal Translator was founded in Sessa Aurunca in 2017 by Giovanna Ferrante, a certified translator and former in-house localisation manager. The agency specialises in six translation disciplines for Italian businesses and international clients.
Giovanna Ferrante began her translation career working on legal contracts for a Caserta law firm. The work was detailed and demanding, and it quickly became clear that most Italian businesses had no reliable translation partner for international work. Either they used machine translation and accepted the results, or they used generalist freelancers without subject expertise. Both approaches had obvious failure modes.
After five years in legal translation, Giovanna moved into software localisation as the in-house localisation manager for a Naples technology company. That role added a different dimension: scale, format complexity, and the specific challenge of translating interfaces for real users rather than documents for readers.
Unreal Translator was founded in 2017 to combine both backgrounds into a single agency: rigorous language work, structured processes, and a translator panel that covers both specialist and technical domains. The agency operates entirely digitally, serving clients across Italy and internationally from its base in Sessa Aurunca.
